Curriculum Vitae
Molecular virology, experimental platforms, and scientific analysis.
Experimental biologist with more than eight years in virology, cell engineering, and large-scale assay development, with a habit of measuring the tools as carefully as the biology. I build screening platforms, live-cell reporters, quantitative analysis pipelines, and scientific-AI workflows—then audit how well they actually work.
Experience
Oct 2025 — now
Senior Scientist
Biohub · Arias Group, San Francisco
Build end-to-end Python workflows for CRISPR-screen exploration and single-cell microscopy analysis using Cellpose and Ultrack. Trained a random-forest cell-death classifier on 224 live-cell trajectories, reaching 0.909 ± 0.015 ROC-AUC and 0.832 ± 0.008 balanced accuracy. Built and continue to develop a 13-stage multi-agent hypothesis-generation workflow, including deterministic guardrails and a quantitative reliability audit across 142 runs. Manage a Research Associate through hit-to-lead experimental work.
Jan — Oct 2025
Scientist II
Biohub, San Francisco
Led mechanistic follow-up of CRISPRi-screen hits using quantitative imaging, molecular biology, and complementary analytical assays. Characterized host-trafficking processes and a small-molecule retrograde-transport inhibitor with activity across multiple viruses; manuscript in preparation. Led V-SWITCH, a single-vector OFF-to-ON reporter validated with Dengue, Zika, West Nile, and HCoV-OC43, together with a public live-cell analysis pipeline. Presented at GRC Viruses & Cells 2025 and ASCB 2025.
Jan 2023 — Jan 2025
Scientist I
Biohub, San Francisco
Developed an ongoing comparative CRISPRi platform interrogating more than 3,000 proteostasis-network genes across HSV-1, HCMV, and Vaccinia virus while holding the cell model, perturbation format, library, and selection strategy constant. Quantitative FACS screening in biological triplicate identified nine validated shared host factors. Designed a flow-cytometry compound screen, identified antiviral activity without measurable cytotoxicity, and contributed to validation in a skin-organoid model with UC Irvine.
Oct 2021 — Jan 2023
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
University of California, San Francisco
Conducted and analyzed a genome-wide CRISPR screen to identify genes controlling sensitivity to a novel antibody–drug conjugate targeting KRAS-driven tumors. Evaluated cellular toxicity and molecular inhibition through quantitative assays in collaboration with a medicinal-chemistry team.
2016 — 2020
Ph.D. Researcher
INSERM U1110, Institute of Viral & Liver Disease · Strasbourg University, France
Conducted high-throughput genetic and small-molecule screening that contributed to an HDV infection inhibitor now in preclinical evaluation. Built mammalian cell models using lentiviral vectors and CRISPR-Cas9, trained and supervised four researchers, co-authored four peer-reviewed publications, and coordinated a €250K public–private collaboration with Sanofi.
